RJ Davis Eyes Record Books as UNC Basketball Marches On

The North Carolina Tar Heels are rolling, and a significant reason for their success is the scorching play of senior guard RJ Davis.  But Davis isn't just leading his team to victories; he's on the cusp of etching his name in UNC basketball history.

Record-Breaking Season:

Davis is currently just four three-pointers shy of surpassing Justin Jackson's record for most three-pointers made in a single season for the Tar Heels.  Jackson set the mark with 106 threes during the 2016-2017 championship run.  If Davis can knock down four more threes in the coming games, he'll become the new record holder.

This isn't Davis's only recent accomplishment.  He recently surpassed Larry Miller on the UNC program's all-time scoring list, joining an elite group of Tar Heels with over 2,000 career points.

Beyond the Numbers:

Davis's impact goes beyond statistics.  He's a clutch performer, consistently delivering in high-pressure situations.  His leadership and on-court presence have been instrumental in propelling the Tar Heels to a top ranking and a strong showing in the ACC Tournament.

Eyes on the Prize:

While breaking records is a personal achievement, Davis's primary focus remains on team success.  The Tar Heels are vying for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, and Davis's hot shooting and leadership will be crucial to their championship aspirations.

Coach Hubert Davis's Praise:

Head Coach Hubert Davis, himself a UNC legend, is effusive in his praise for his star guard.  "RJ is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now," Coach Davis said. "He's a special player, and we're lucky to have him leading this team."

A Legacy in the Making:

With his stellar play, RJ Davis is not only contributing to the Tar Heels' current success, but also potentially carving out a permanent space in UNC basketball lore.  If he can break the three-point record and lead his team to a championship, his place as a Tar Heel great will be undeniable.
