Pakistan's hopes of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2026 took a major blow as they faced a 3-0 defeat against Jordan, marking their third consecutive loss in the second round of Asian qualifiers.
The defeat against Jordan at Islamabad's Jinnah Stadium has put Pakistan on the verge of elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.
During the match, Jordan's Musa Al-Taamari showcased his talent by scoring two goals, while Ali Olwan added another to Jordan's tally.
Despite Jordan taking an early 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes, Pakistan's defense managed to prevent further goals, avoiding a complete rout against the Asian Cup finalists.
In Group G of the Asian qualifiers, Jordan currently holds the third position with four points, while Pakistan remains winless and at the bottom of the table after losing all three games.
Pakistan's next challenge will be an away fixture against Jordan on March 26. With three remaining games, including matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, Pakistan must secure victories in all of them to keep their hopes alive for qualifying for the World Cup.
